The problem we are working on
Nigeria grows a great deal of food and loses a painful share of it on the way to the table. Produce moves through several hands between the farm gate and the plate, and at each step the farmer's share of the final price shrinks while the risk of spoilage grows.
Farmers rarely know what their crop is worth in Lagos on any given morning. Buyers rarely know which farm their food came from, or whether the money they sent will result in a delivery. Both problems have the same root: there is no shared, trustworthy record of who is selling what, where, and at what price.
What we built
Geo-tagged origin
Every farm and market stall on CityFarms has real coordinates on a public map. You can see where your food comes from before you buy it.
Escrow on every order
Payment is held by our licensed payment partner until delivery is confirmed. Neither side has to trust a stranger with money.
Verification that means something
Farmers are peer-vetted through their cooperatives. Traders are checked on site at their market. A badge is earned, not bought.
Where we operate
We are starting deliberately small and dense rather than thin and wide. Today CityFarms covers farms in Epe, Ikorodu, Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode, market traders in Ketu and Mile 12, and consumer delivery across the Lagos metropolis.
These are the corridors that already feed Lagos. Getting them right matters more than covering the map. We expand as our logistics and verification can genuinely support each new area — more locations are coming.
Who we serve
CityFarms is built for every player in the chain, not only the two ends of it — farmers, market traders, consumers, input suppliers, equipment providers, logistics partners and aggregators. Many of the people we work with are several of these at once, and the platform is being built to reflect that rather than force a single label on anyone.
